What is Precept Bible Study?

As Christians, we have an inherent desire to know God. The goal of Precept Bible Study at Sagemont Church is that every believer would become equipped to discover and experience the truths of God's Word through Inductive Bible Study.
The "Inductive Study Method" uses the Bible as the main source and is aimed at bringing you to the Word of God apart from someone else's understanding or interpretation of the text. It involves three skills:

Observation

Teaches you to see precisely what the passage says. It is the basis for accurate interpretation and correct application. Observation answers the question: What does the passage say?

Interpretation

Interpretation answers the question: What does the passage mean?

Application

Application answers the question: What truths can I put into practice and what changes should I make in my life?

Students taking Inductive Bible Study courses complete weekly workbook assignments and attend weekly discussion classes.

Draw near and let God communicate to you through His Word. No matter where you are in your journey with God, there is a Precept study for you. The main requirement is the willingness to slow down and really look at what the Scripture is saying. The time you give to studying His Word will prove to be very satisfying.
